When making a booking, hirers will be required to complete a booking form, which details the conditions of hire of the Community Centre.  A deposit equal to fifty per cent of the relevant hire charge will be payable at that time.

Conditions of Hire


Armthorpe Community Centre, which is owned and managed by Armthorpe Parish Council, is situated within the pleasant surroundings of the Welfare Park on Church Street, the main road running through the village of Armthorpe. It is easily accessible by road (A630) from Junction 4 of the M18 Motorway, turning left at the second roundabout for Armthorpe. There is a regular bus service from Doncaster town centre (Service 81 or 82).

The Community Centre is available for hire and has the facilities detailed below. All rooms are carpeted with the exception of the main hall, which has a wooden floor.

The management at the Community Centre will always endeavour to accommodate the various uses proposed by hirers. It does, however, reserve the absolute right to refuse consent to any proposed use, if it considers the same to be inappropriate for whatever reason, including health and safety, etc.


The Community Centre has a fully licensed bar, which is situated at one end of the well furnished lounge.

To one side of the lounge are wooden doors, which when folded back, allow the lounge to be used in conjunction with the Main Hall. The lounge/bar on its own is an ideal setting for small informal gatherings and parties and can comfortably accommodate up to 55 people.

Bar extensions may be available. Requests for such extensions must be made at least six weeks in advance of the relevant function/event date.

The large main hall is equipped with air conditioning and is suitable for a variety of uses. When used in conjunction with the adjoining kitchen and bar/lounge this makes the Community Centre an ideal venue for wedding receptions, parties and other celebratory functions.

The main hall, having been especially designed with a high quality wooden sprung floor, is also an excellent setting for dances and various sporting activities.



 There are three meeting rooms in the Community Centre, the smallest of which is on the ground floor, with attached kitchenette. It can accommodate up to 33 people.

The other two meeting rooms are situated on the first floor and can each can accommodate up to 50 people.

Within the Community Centre grounds is a children’s play park comprising swings, slide, climbing frame etc. suitable for children under the age of 11 years. All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult and the park is available for use during Community Centre opening hours.  Please note the play park is currently not available for use as repairs are needed to the playground matting surfaces.



There is a free car park for users of the Community Centre with space for 32 cars. There are more free parking spaces available both within the Welfare Park grounds and just off the main road outside the premises.


All rooms and facilities on the ground floor of the Community Centre are fully accessible. A platform lift allows access to the first floor. There are three disabled car parking spaces for drivers displaying a blue badge.
