Meetings

The Council conducts its business at various meetings, which it holds throughout each year.

All meetings are held at Armthorpe Community Centre and commence at 19:00.

All Council meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month, except August which is the recess.

All Community Centre and General Purposes Committee meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month, except August which is the recess.  

All meetings are open to the public, except those meetings or parts of the same where the public is excluded by resolution.

The Full Council comprises all Members of the Council and deals with matters that have not been previously delegated to the other Committees.

Full Council

The Council meets eleven times a year on the first Tuesday in each month and at other times when a special meeting is called. It comprises all Members of the Council. Its meetings deal with all matters that have not previously been delegated to the following Committees.

Community Centre & General Purposes Committee

The Community Centre and General Purposes Committee meets eleven times a year on the third Tuesday in each month and has thirteen Members.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee meets three times a year. It comprises ten Members of the Council.

Staffing Committee

The Committee comprise seven Members of the Council and meets when required to.

Disciplinary and Grievance Panels

This Panel, which comprises five Members of the Council who are not Members of the Staffing Committee, has delegated authority to exercise all the powers of the Council in relation to the determination of employee appeals from decisions of the Staffing Committee. Meetings of the Panel are held when there are matters relating to the above that require consideration.

Annual Parish Meeting

A meeting held annually between 1st March and 1st June.

Strategic Planning Committee

The committee of six Councillors was established in September 2022 to discuss projects to include in the 2023-2025 Strategic Plan for Armthorpe Parish Council

Office Sub Committee

The committee comprises of five Council members who were appointed to discuss plans to provide office facilities for staff within Armthorpe Community Centre.

Events Sub Committee

The Events Sub Committee was established to plan events for the year ahead.

Sports and Recreation Sub Committee

The committee of five members meet to discuss the development of the Sports and Recreation activities delivered to the community.
